Buckskill Tennis Club, owned by the DeGroot family, operates from the spring to the fall, and then the Buckskill Winter Club takes over with an outdoor ice rink. It is the only ice rink on the South Fork. A machine covers more than 200 feet of tennis courts for ice-skating fun. In warmer months, there are three grass courts, six Har-Tru courts, and one Deco-Turf court to play on. There is a club house with a concession and a small pro shop. During the winter, the tennis raquets and tennis apparel are moved off the shelves for skates that can be rented. The Westchester Table Tennis Center is a 13,000-square-foot facility that opened in Pleasantville in May 2011. Owned by Pleasantville resident and New York Times crossword puzzle Editor Will Shortz, the center has 18 "Double Happiness" table tennis tables, high ceilings, lounge and locker rooms/showers for men and women. Located three-and-a-half blocks from the Pleasantville Metro-North Train Station, the club aims to be the premier table tennis facility in Westchester. There are more than 100 free parking spaces on premise for patrons. The center offers group training, one-on-one lessons, youth playing times and accommodates all levels of skill.
