Located at the Riverhead Correctional Facility, the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office is headed by Vincent F. DeMarco. The office runs both the Riverhead and Yaphank Correctional Facilities, which hold nearly 1,800 inmates between them. The County Sheriff is an elected official with 4-year terms. DeMarco's term expires in 2010.
