Founded in 1965, Bowie High School serves more than 3,000 students in grades nine through 12. The school offers more than 300 courses that include core curriculum, advanced placement, special education, technology education, and talented and gifted programs. It offers a wide range of subjects, which include art, science, social studies, mathematics, English, family and consumer science, health education and business studies. It offers foreign language courses in various international languages, including French, German, Spanish and Japanese. The school also offers naval junior officer reserve training courses. It has various athletic and sports teams, including wrestling, baseball, basketball, soccer and swimming. Its center for performing arts offers a wide range of activities, such as stage crafts, workshops, concerts, creative arts, theater programs, musical performances and therapies. Bowie High School is part of Prince George s County Public Schools and is located in Bowie, Md.
