Matunuck Elementary School proudly serves full-day kindergarten through grade four students. Our commitment is to promote hard work, accountability and perseverance from all students and staff. We honor individual learning styles and encourage effort-based learning providing children the confidence to become creative thinkers.
Matunuck is a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention Support) School where students are acknowledged for demonstrating respect to others, themselves and their surroundings. Our PTO is very active in sponsoring special events, cultural arts and after-school enrichment activities for children. The principal is Debra Zepp.
St. Philomena School is a private, Catholic elementary school located on Cory's Lane in Portsmouth.

Located in the Wakefield neighborhood of the city of South Kingstown, Wakefield School serves students in grades kindergarten through grade four. Wakefield School has a strong reputation as an educational environment which seeks to foster the social/emotional as well as rigorous academic needs of its students. Wakefield School was the first in South Kingstown to develop a Site Based Management Team. Currently the demands of the school are divided between the School Improvement Team and the Advisory Communication Team, which helps handle the day-to-day issues that arise. Teachers and staff are well invested in their young charges and pitch in with creative problem solving ideas as needs arise.
The Village Co-Op Nursery School is a small establishment located just off Kingstown Rd., next to the Scallop Shell Nursing Home.
Growing Children of Rhode Island, located just north of the old South Road School, is a school that aims to nurture the creative minds and spirits of young children by immersing them in an arts-based education. Specializing in child care, preschool and kindergarten, it is a clean and safe environment to leave a child in according to the faculty.
The center operates with a no closed door policy, which means that not only are parents allowed to come in at will and participate, no door with the exception of the facility's main door is ever fully closed.

Our Lady of Fatima is a private Catholic school for students grades 6 through 12. Aside from a traditional high school core curriculum, students take courses on religion and are actively involved in the community.
