Whiz Kids Learning Center has been offering quality child care since 1985. Its Marstons Mills day care, pre-school and summer camp programs are available to children who live between Cotuit and Hyannis. The center enrolls students from 6 weeks to 14 years of age for qualifying programs. Ideal for working parents, Whiz Kids is open year-round, including most half-days and school closure days, with the exception of several major holidays. Educational programs include art, music, drama, reading and math readiness, and science. As an added convenience, two school buses owned by the center are available for supervised field trips, as well as pick-ups and drop-offs of children from kindergarten. Owner Sue Heinlein also owns a Buzzards Bay location, Discovery Preschool, which, like Marstons Mills, is based on the philosophy that school should be fun. She demonstrates this through the playful, educational environments her centers provide.
The Barnstable Horace Mann Charter School is the fourth and fifth grade school for the town of Barnstable. Although this school dons the charter school name, it in fact is the only 4 - 5 school in the Barnstable school district. All Barnstable students attend this school.
Founded in 1988, by Carolyn Larson, Fair Acres Country Day School provides daycare and kindergarten to children ages 2.9 - 5 yrs. Following her retirement, it is now owned and operated by family members Craig, Curt and Jodi. Located on more than six acres of land, some features include: two buildings of classrooms, a state-of-the-art playground, athletic field, tennis and multipurpose courts.
