Shields Middle School is a part of Hillsborough County Public Schools, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools. Shields Middle School serves students in grades six through eight. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as math, science, social studies, English and language arts. The school also offers a variety of courses in technology exploration, agricultural science, business education, and family and consumer science. In addition, it offers a range of elective programs in art, band, orchestra and physical education. The school provides bilingual education and offers the English for Speakers of Other Languages program.
