Townsend Elementary School is a part of the Appoquinimink School District and enrolls more than 300 students in grades one through five. Its facilities include a library, gymnasium, auditorium, cafeteria, counseling suite, technology laboratory, and music and art rooms. The school operates a parent-teacher association that encourages parental involvement in children s education and sponsors various fundraising events and activities. It conducts classes in math, science, social studies and language arts. Townsend Elementary School provides special education for students with various disabilities.
