Manya Vee Selects is owned and operated by Jeff Stilwell and Manya Schilperoort, a husband and wife team who brought their deep love of the arts with them upon their move to Edmonds. Drawn by its beauty and small town charm, they noticed that Edmonds could only boast two art galleries so they founded the well known Edmonds Art Walk. It was at this time that they also opened Manya Vee Selects, a shop dedicated to lasting beauty found in quality handcrafted items.
Manya Vee Selects features the work of approximately 110 artists, many from Washington State. The mediums vary from intriguing textural paintings, stunning glasswork and beautiful pottery to handmade quality clothing, carefully crafted jewelry and candles.
Large, eye catching copper pieces grace the walls with a characteristic warmth that is pleasantly reflected in the owner and namesake herself, Manya. Her husband Jeff, a playwrite, has produced several of his plays in Edmonds and both have been instrumental in the blossoming of the Edmonds Arts Community. Most recently, in September of 2009, the couple began the Edmonds Mural Society and during their time residing in Edmonds, they have seen the community build from two art galleries into eighteen.
In keeping with their overall encouragement of the Edmonds art community, Manya Vee Selects also hosts classes for artists, by successful fellow artists, to learn how to manage their businesses.
