Rockledge Elementary School is located across from the Bowie Golf & Country Club on MD-197. Led by Principal Pam Landry, the school is implementing a new program this year called "Rockledge Reads" to try and encourage students to develop strong reading skills. The school also scored well on the 2010 Maryland School Assessment, with students achieving scores of 90% or higher in almost every category for all grade levels tested.

C. Elizabeth Rieg Region School, named after a pioneer in education for students with special needs, was dedicated on March 18, 1979. The school is specifically for those who need additional care and it has an extensive team of specialists to deal with the needs of all of the students. The principal is Patrice F. Loftmar Stables has been around since 1984 and offers instruction for all levels of horseback riding. Riders receive half an hour private lessons. Pony rides are also available. Call the number listed to make an appointment.
Since 1986, Arrive Alive Driving School has provided certified driving instruction. It is a 36-hour course. Thirty of the hours are a class, and six are the actual driving lessons. Individual driving packages are also available.
