The Orange County Islamic Foundation includes the Mission Viejo Masjid, spread over two levels of the Park Madero Building. On the first floor there is a bookstore, men's prayer hall, vending machines, bathrooms, a multipurpose hall and a kitchen facility. The second floor holds the women's prayer hall and children facility, along with additional bathrooms. In the entrance you'll find a list of the daily prayer times and event schedules. A number of social, religious and educational services are offered by the foundation. The Al Ridah Academy, adjacent to the structure, is the accredited pre- and elementary Islamic school.
Church of the Master Pre-school is connected to the Presbyterian Church of the Master. The pre-school provides a balanced developmental program in conjunction with a Christian-based curriculum. It offers activities, an outdoor playground and a safe environment for children. Half-day programs are available to children between the ages of 2.9 years and 5.9 years of age. The school offers music, science, art, literature, dramatic play, cooking, numbers, pre-reading, games and movement programs. Montevideo Elementary School is a public school with a strong parent-teacher association that stresses cooperation. Montevideo has an intimate campus with lots to offer its students, such as a computer lab, library, and after school activities.
Esperanza is a school that caters to special needs students. With a patient and caring staff, Esperanza offers students many different programs. The campus is small, providing an intimate environment allowing staff to better aid students. The school receives a high level of involvement from parents and encourages community involvement as well.
Leport Schools in Mission Veijo serves children from the toddler age to eighth grade. The school offers Montessori toddler and preschool classes in which children learn to read, write and do arithmetic. The elementary and junior high school programs start with a Montessori environment in grades 1-3 and then transition into a more traditional classroom setup in grades 4-8. Extracurricular activites include music, art and athletics.
Living Word Christian Academy focuses on both a solid academic foundation and Christian teachings. Daily bible studies are combined with history, science and other academic subjects. The school also offers day care services for both pre and after school hours. The school is directly connected to a church called the Living Word Lutheran Church. It offers spiritual growth through the Bible and the teachings of God. Services are held every Sunday at 8am and 10:30am with Holy Communion offered at the first and third Sundays of every month. Presbyterian Church of the Master offers a wide range of ministries including adult and family, children, college, music, young adult, high school and junior high ministries. The church is committed to following the teachings of Christ while engaging the communities to grow and love. South County Special Center Classes offers educational services for mentally disabled individuals. The center teaches vocabulary development, social speaking, learning assistance and related skills. Its staff works with visitors to cater services to individual needs.
Lifeline CPR is located on the second floor of the Avery Plaza. The health care education center has been serving Orange County since 1992. Lifeline CPR has courses for both health care providers and those everyday people who want to be prepared in case of emergencies. It offers classes in cardiac and pediatric life support as well as community pediatric CPR. Students are encouraged to register for the classes online at least two weeks prior to the start of the session. Lifeline CPR also has online learning opportunities. The organization is fully certified with the American Heart Association and are partnered with various hospitals in Orange County.
Shepherd of the Hills is a United Methodist Church. Their core values are basd on building Christian communities. Craig Brown is the lead pastor here with several associate pastors who help to deliver the word of Christ to this mega congregation. Foreign educational excursions to historic sacred grounds are just the types of serious dedication to teaching upheld at Shepherd of the Hills. Not to mention, there are over ten different worship and study groups including one called the Stephen Ministry.
It is designed to intervene in the lives of members who are in times of struggle while maintaining full confidentiality with those in care. Shepherd's preschool program is also highly regarded and is very affordable.
Mission Viejo Kids Club offers before- and after-school care, kindergarten and spring and summer camps. Programs aim to help kids gain confidence and self respect and develop intellectually, physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. Special programs offered include gymnastics, painting, photography, ceramics, science, music, chess and the performing arts.
