The City of Philadelphia Personnel Department is a part of the government of the City of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. It works in partnership with the city s departments, agencies, boards, and commissions to attract and maintain a diverse work force. The department includes an employee benefits unit that administers prescription drug, dental and vision plans for more than 6,000 employees. The City of Philadelphia Personnel Department maintains an employee training and development unit that coordinates and provides training and development activities to meet the needs of city s employees. The city government operates through several departments, including fire, health, sheriff, law, water and finance.
