Hurricane High School is affiliated with the Putnam County School District, offers grades nine through 12. The school curriculum includes foreign languages, literature, creative writing, journalism, applied communications, Greek and Roman mythologies, American history, business, marketing and family and consumer science. It also offers subjects, such as applied mathematics, algebra, thematic science, physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, environmental earth sciences, anatomy and physiology, and computer and physical education. The school also organizes classes for singing, dancing, playing music. Hurricane High School provides special education programs for the students with the disabilities. The school s sports activities include football, baseball, volleyball, basketball and track and field. It also has science and math clubs. The student council assists in various school activities, such as organizing fund-raising programs, health care and community services. Hurricane High School has a parent-teacher association to assist in school activities. It is located in Hurricane, W.Va.
