Living Hope is one of three locations of Bloomington Lutheran Church, which opened in 1951. In addition to worship services, it provides Bible studies, Sunday school, confirmation classes, and ministries such as Joyful Hands and Cradle Roll. It also has a school for kids from preschool age through grade 4.
Mount Olive was established in 1952, when services were held in a private home in Shakopee. The first chapel opened in 1957. The current church in Jackson Township opened in 2004. In 2005, the church opened a preschool for children ages 3 and 4 within the church building.
Shakopee East Junior High School provides secondary education services to students in grades seven through nine, offering them not only a wealth of knowledge in academic subjects, but also a safe and nurturing space to develop into young adults with an enthusiam for learning and an appreciation for diversity. In addition, the school offers a variety of extracurricular activities and athletic programs.
The modern Red Oak Elementary School serves kindergarten through fifth-grade students. A relatively new school, it opened in 2002, is complete with sports facilities and playgrounds. There are a number of after-school and summer programs for local students.
Pearson Elementary School is a kindergarten through fifth-grade school. The building will be closed in the next year and later converted into a middle school for local students.
The newly constructed Jackson Elementary will absorb current Pearson students. The Pearson building will later be used for sixth-grade students.
