The Meridian Elementary School is one of four public institutions in the Grosse Ile Township Schools System. This school teaches students from kindergarten through fifth grade and follows the standard state curriculum. It has about 380 students. The school focuses on developing reading, writing and critical thinking skills in students through a variety of programs and activities, including Accelerated Reader, the Guided Reading System, Exchange City and Study Island.
The Grosse Ile Middle School is a public institution and is part of the Grosse Ile Township Schools System. The school, which is located on E. River Road near its junction with Ferry Road, teaches students in grades 6 through 8. The school has a student body of around 450 pupils. It has a media center, school nurse, cafeteria and subsidized lunch, a guidance office and follows state curriculum. Several after school enrichment programs and clubs, including student council and the Builder's Club are available.
