Emmanuel AUMP is an African Methodist congregation in the Ambler community. Sunday worship is held at 10am, directly after a 9am Sunday school service. Prayer meetings and Bible studies are held on Mondays at noon.
New Beginnings Community Church has been serving the Ambler community as a Baptist congregation since 1952. The church has a small but enthusiastic congregation of about 50, led by Pastor Dave Jacques Sr, who has been serving since 1996. The church runs a number of services and programs, including child care, youth and study groups. The members consider themselves very involved, and have dedicated an entire page on the church's Web site to the many missions they run.
Cornerstone Presbyterian welcomes all Ambler area residents who practice the faith. Sunday worship services are held at 10:45am and 6pm. A Sunday School program is also provided starting at 10am on Sundays. The church's congregation, at just under 100 people, is also provided with study group and youth program services.
Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church of Maple Glen, Pa. hosts regular Sunday mass, a youth ministry program and adult faith formation and bereavement groups. It also operates the Saint Alphonsus School for students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
Ambler Church of the Brethren hosts weekly Sunday worship services and Sunday school. It also hosts a movie discussion group, a "Kids for Christ" youth group, and a "Family Connections Network" that hosts such events as bowling outings, barbecues and other family-friendly events. Congregaation Beth Or is a thriving Jewish community center, educational facility and synagogue. The center has been in existence for 55 years and has a mission to help foster an excellent lifestyle for its members. This includes offering infant care, pre-school and kindergarten; facilities such as a library, banquet rooms and multipurpose rooms; a 500-person-capacity chapel; and a number of programs for the elderly such as a lifelong learning service. The Upper Dublin Friends Meetinghouse is a thriving Quaker congregation outside of Ambler on Fort Washington Avenue. Worship services are held on Sunday at 10:00am. The church is full of history as the building itself has stood since 1814. A small, confined graveyard adjacent to the church is the final resting place of many early prominent residents of the area. An additional historical marvel is a horse-block, or freestanding step that was used to help members mount their horses when leaving services.
Upper Dublin Evangelical Luthern Church has been a place of worship in the Ambler community for more 250 years. Over time the church's mission has developed into being an inviting place to practice faith, leading to the church's motto, "A Welcome Place." A congregation of roughly 360 meets during one of three Sunday worship times at 7:45, 9 and 10:30am. During services, a Sunday nursery and school is available. Temple Sinai is an egalitarian Conservative synagogue. In addition to its weekly services, it offers organizations and educational programs for patrons of all ages. Services are held daily in the morning and the evening. A preschool is open to children age 2 through 4 years of age, and religious school is available for children in elementary school; adult education classes are offered as well.
First Presbyterian Church has provided the Ambler community with a welcoming and warm place to worship for more than 118 years. The large congregation, at about 650 members, places a high value on inclusiveness and togetherness. Two services are held each Sunday in the church's beautiful stone building on North Street: a traditional service at 9:30am, and an alternative service that includes a praise band and other contemporary facets at 11:00am. Philadelphia Korean Methodist Church offers a Methodist congregation to the Korean population in Ambler. Although the services are welcome to all and translations are provided, the church communicates with the Korean language. The church itself, located on Meetinghouse Road, offers a well-lit and spacious chapel along with a gathering facility. A sprawling lawn and large parking lot help complete an open, welcoming appearance.
St. Anthony's welcomes all members of the Roman Catholic faith to worship in its congregation. The church will be celebrating its 125th anniversary next year, and established itself as a cornerstone in the Ambler community. St. Anthony's offers a number of services and programs, including child care, choir and youth programs, mission work, and a calendar full of special events. Led by Pastor Dr. Don Hoagland, Supplee Memorial Presbyterian Church hosts worship services, Sunday school, student ministry programs for youth in grades 6 through 12 and music programs such as Praise Team, Children's Choir and Handbell Choir. The church also operates the Supplee Church Nursery School, which teaches numbers, letters, pre-math and pre-reading skills, science and social studies.
Zion Baptist Church has been a cornerstone of the Ambler community since its founding in 1895. Zion has been at its current location since 1925, during which the building was expanded and updated several times to account for the growing congregation. Today, the building features a number of modern additions, such as an elevator, public address system and multimedia center. Zion Baptist holds two Sunday services, at 7:30am and 10:45am. The church also holds a mid-week prayer on Wednesdays, and a number of Bible studies and suppers throughout the week.
Trinity Church has been a vibrant Episcopalian congregation since its founding in 1908. The church enjoys worshipping in a big, beautiful stone building located on a sprawling green plot of land at the corner of South Bethlehem Pike and Ardross Avenue. A congregation of approximately 400 meets during the Sunday morning services. A number of additional services are held throughout the week. St. John's provides the Ambler Lutheran community a place to worship in its spacious church on Ridge Avenue. The main Sunday service features jazz and gospel music on every third Sunday of the month. The church also has a number of activities and groups, such as a Friday dinner, excursions into the local community and natural destinations and a number of outreach programs and missions.
The Church of Acts provides the Ambler community with a non-denominational congregation, although the church worships in the Pentecostal belief. The church describes itself as open to people of all walks of life. Services are held every Sunday at 10am, and a weekly prayer meeting is held Wednesdays at 7pm.
