The Ballard Vale United Church is a church following both the Methodist and Congregational faiths but will accept anybody into its community. The congregation is rooted in two different churches that both began in Andover in 1850. The two churches, the Union Congregational Church and the Methodist Episcopal Church, decided to merge in 1955. The church has been located at its current spot on Clark Road since 1967. The church still embodies both the Methodist and and the Congregational faiths.
Conveniently located just off Route 495, First Baptist Church was founded in Tewksbury in 1842. The church, a member of the American Baptist Church community, is host to Boy Scout Troop 41 and Cub Scout Pack 41. The diverse congregation is led by its pastor, Dr. Kirk Byron Jones. Visitors to the church are greeted by lovely gardens featuring flowers and shrubbery.
This quaint church near the center of town offers several Sunday masses to accomodate all parishoner's schedules. Those who cannot make it to mass can listen to audio recordings on the website later. St. Paul's Episcopal Church offers Sunday morning religious education for children to supplement what they learn in worship. The church boasts a children's, youth and adult choir.
Rachel Fisher is the pastor of this congregation. The church offers a variety of groups for its members, including a choir, women's fellowship, friendship group and sisterhood fellowship. The church also makes its facilities available to outside organizations for group meetings or events.
Saint Charles Elementary School was founded in 1884 and is sponsored by the Saint Charles Borromeo Parish. It educates students from kindergarten through eighth grade, with an average class size of between 18 and 25 students. Children must be five years old to register for kindergarten, and spots are grated on a space-available basis.
This school has an auditorium, a lunch room, a music room and a gymnasium. Saint Charles's elementary school offers a variety of special programs as well, including food drives, monthly school masses and parent service programs.
North Congregational Church, founded in 1849, is part of the United Christ of Church association. It serves the local community as well as surrounding towns of Stoneham and Burlington. It offers religious education programs and classes for children and a music program. Services are held every Sunday at 10am. Visitors are welcome to attend.
This quaint church is tucked away in a residential neighborhood near Memorial Elementary School. Services are held three times a week.
The First Baptist Church offers children, youth, senior adult and women ministries, as well as education, group meetings and missions.
Dr. David Wesley Reid is the church's senior pastor.
More commonly known as a place to donate clothing, The Salvation Army is first and foremost a church and social service agency. All denominations are welcome, though the organization's belief system is rooted in the Methodist and Wesleyan faiths. Church services, Sunday school, youth, women's and men's programs take place weekly. Drop-off bins are available 24/7 for donations of clothing, shoes and soft items. A food pantry is also on site.
Located on the corner of Main Street Trinity is an Episcopal church that serves Woburn and surrounding communities. They offer Sunday School services for children and they have a choir. This location also offers Bible Study for adults as well. They perform special services such as funerals, baptisms and weddings. Confessions are also heard at Trinity Church. Visitors are welcome each week.
Lead by Reverend Mack Hagins, the West Chelmsford United Methodist Church is a family-centered church that offers choir and music programs, youth programs and study programs for residents of Chelmsford and the surrounding areas. West Chelmsford United Methodist Church also offers ministry opportunities and aides organizations, such as Habitat for Humanity and The Lowell Open Pantry.
Islamic Center of Burlington is a multiculture, community service, and religious organization that was established for the New England Muslim and Islam community. There are five daily prayers and walk-ins are welcomed.
Saint Gregory's Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church is located next to the Sovereign Bank on Main Street. They have masses every Sunday and regularly throughout the week. Parishoners have the opportunity to be a part of the Memorial Garden Patio where they can purchase a brick to personalize in remembrance of a love one. Prayers can also be requested for Sunday mass.
Founded more than 150 years ago in Lawrence, the First-Calvary Baptist Church moved to North Andover in 1992 after a fire destroyed its Lawrence facility. The church is a member of the American Baptist Churches, which is a theologically moderate yet Evangelically-oriented denomination. The First-Calvary Baptist Church has about 300 members and, although Baptist, welcomes people from every Christian backgrounds to come worship.
With Sunday morning services and coffee hours, musical performances, fundraisers, youth ministry trips, day care, vacation Bible school, poetry readings, spaghetti suppers and other community events throughout the year, Christ Lutheran Church is incredibly active in the community.
Founded in 1869, the St. Michael Parish meets at the St. Michael Church, which sits along Main Street and serves about 16,000 people from around North Andover and the Merrimack Valley. The church is Roman Catholic and welcomes new members as well as guests for services and ceremonies.
Aldersgate United Methodist Church serves Chelmsford and the Merrimack Valley area and is led by Rev. Lisa Bruget-Cass. It offers ministries for men, women and children, teens, outreach programs, music and more. Its members pride themselves on working in the community, doing several service projects each year.
