Hello! Thank you for checking out my story! By now you probably know that my name is Rebecca Devan & that I am a real estate broker in Western North Carolina. I was born in Idaho Falls, ID while my family was there for work. I was actually raised in a little town in Eastern Connecticut called North Stonington. It is home to the world famous Foxwoods Resort Casino. After high school I went on to start my college years at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, CT. Then I transfered to UCONN for a year where I worked and lived at home. Finally, I transferred to Appalachian State University in Boone, NC! This is where I finished out my degree in Physical Anthropology. Upon graduating from App State, I joined the Americorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) in Vicksburg, Mississippi. I spent 10 long months serving the communities of the gulf coast rebuilding homes that were devastated during Hurricane Katrina. My team and I also traveled to Moundville, Alabama, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Yazoo City, Mississippi, Kentucky, West Virgina, and many other places! After completing my time with the Americorps NCCC, I decided one year of service was not enough! So I applied and got accepted into the Americorps Cape Cod program located in Pocasset, Massachusetts!! Again, I spent another 10 months giving back to the communities on Cape Cod. The program focused on environmental issues on the Cape and restoring those areas. Once I finished serving 2 years with the Americorps, I joined the work force! I started out by delivering flowers for a local flower shop while I looked for jobs to become a Park Ranger. I was unable to find a job as a ranger so I had decided to become an administrative assistant. I spent 3 years with a car dealership. I managed their social media pages, their websites, took photos of vehicles and much more! Then the time came for me to move on in July 2014. My brother Ben, who already lived in Asheville had a room open up in his house. And therefore I decided to become his roommate! Once arriving in Asheville I got a job as an admin at a small office down in Arden, NC. I also met my amazing boyfriend Alex just thereafter. I moved in with Alex the day after Christmas 2015. After working for the small company in Arden for 3+ years, I had decided I needed to change things up again. After Christmas day 2016 to sign up for real estate classes beginning in January 2017. I got my license in May 2017 and joined on with Keller Williams. I am now with an amazing company called EXP Realty. It is a cloud based firm and we run our businesses from our homes but we have an online campus that we can go to to attend meetings, trainings and seminars. On May 11th, 2019, Alex and I got married at a rustic barn venue in Hendersonville, NC. It was an amazing day and we then honeymooned to Montego Bay, Jamaica! Thank you for checking out my story!
