Bridgton Academy, incorporated in 1808, is a one-year, postgraduate, day and boarding school for young men. It enrolls more than 180 young men and employs over 30 faculty members. The academy offers more than 25 semester courses, and its curriculum includes various subjects, such as English, mathematics, social studies, science and computer science. Its library provides a variety of online resources and has a large collection of books and other reference materials. The academy also provides a range of athletic programs and other activities, such as golf, tennis, volleyball, hiking, camping trips, canoeing and rafting. In addition, it offers tuition and financial assistance to its students. The academy s campus includes more than 20 buildings on over 55 acres of land in North Bridgton, Maine.

Shawnee Peak is the longest running ski area in Maine. The facility is located one hour from Portland, 20 minutes east of North Conway and 2 hours from Boston. Shawnee Peak offers more than 40 trails, four gladed areas of all ability levels, two terrain parks, a 400 foot halfpipe, five lifts and 98 percent snowmaking. Shawnee Peak boasts the most night skiing in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. This activity is offered six nights (seven during holiday periods) a week on 17 of 40 trails. The ski area also offers skiing and snowboarding lessons as well as rental equipment.
