C.C.B. is a place for students to get an extra academic and test preparation boost. For children and young adults K-12, C.C.B. of Little Neck goes beyond instruction in core subjects like math and English, instilling valuable life skills such as teamwork and leadership.
One of five C.C.B. schools in the New York metro area, the Little Neck location offers test preparation classes for admission to the city's highly-competitive high schools, as well as SAT training for college-bound students. The school also provides its students with after-school homework assistance in addition to C.C.B. classwork.
Coming soon to the Little Neck facility are Saturday programs in sports and public speaking, according to school director Daniel Han.
The Divine Wisdom Catholic Academy is a Catholic school for children in kindergarten through eighth grade and is affiliated with the St. Anastasia Roman Catholic Church. The academy offers a full curriculum, which includes science, math, English, foreign languages, art, music and computer literacy education. The Samuel Field Y is a community resource and event space for residents of greater Northeast Queens and Western Nassau. This center offers services for a variety of audiences and needs. From early childhood care and development to teenage outreach programs to senior services, the Samuel Field Y runs multiple programs throughout the year.
The Y's summer camp offers a range of daily outdoor activities for children and teens, such as field trips and sporting excursions. The pool and tennis courts are located in the Bay Terrace Center on 212-00 23rd Avenue in Bayside.
Located one block from Douglaston Village, The Community Church of Douglaston has been offering worship services to the community since 1952.
The church, which is a short walk from Douglaston's Long Island Rail Road station, also provides a weekly service in Korean.
The Community Church of Douglaston hosts a variety of community programs, including Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, a concert series, yoga classes and space for a local chapter of the Girl Scouts.
