The Head Start in Lemon Grove is located along side of the San Miguel Elementary School and is funded by the Neighborhood House Association. It serves children ages three to five. Created in 1965, Head Start is the most successful, longest-running, national school readiness program in the United States. It provides comprehensive education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families. Nearly 25 million pre-school aged children have benefited from Head Start.
This Discovery Learning Center is next to the Skyline Farms Market, with easy access to the 94 and 125 freeways. This particular child care center is in a home that has been renovated to suit children. There is a security door and fence to keep the children safe. When you walk in the front door, you are welcomed by bright sunshine streaming over the cubbies that hold the children's belongings. There is ample parking in the free lot in front of the entrance.
The Christian Church of Lemon Grove is an independent, non-denominational church that provides the Lemon Grove community with worship services, Sunday school and women's and men's ministries.
