Established in 1991, the West Wendover Police Department works to provide a safe and secure environment for citizens through the enforcement of local, state and federal laws. It operates patrol, administration, investigation and animal control divisions. The department maintains a communication center that coordinates responses to various emergency and nonemergency calls. The West Wendover Police Department hosts Gang Resistance Education and Training (G.R.E.A.T.), Explorer Post and neighborhood watch programs, as well as supports a police activities league. The department is comprised of more than 20 sworn police officers and civilian volunteers. The West Wendover Police Department is located in West Wendover, Nev.
