The Gretna Police Department has been awarded the Outstanding Department" award by the Regional Organized Crime Information Center in Nashville, Tenn. The department is the only law enforcement agency that has been listed among the top 10 relation to the information submitted on traveling criminals and crime impact reports. Its academy offers a 520-hour training program. The Gretna Police Department has been in operation for more than 70 years in Gretna, La. Its staff members include police officers, certified jailers, code enforcement officers, crime scene technicians, record room employees, communication operators and dispatchers. The police department offers various services, including traffic incident management, crime mapping and investigation of sexual offenses.
