The Oregon Ridge Lodge is a refurbished and repurposed ski lodge and home of the Oregon Ridge Park offices. The center features one banquet room and two conference rooms, all three of which are available for event rental. Rental information and rules are available on its website.
Bohrer Park has a little something for everyone. In addition to trails, fields, ponds, playgrounds, pavilions, volleyball nets and a horseshoe pit, the park includes the Gaithersburg Activity Center. The activity center features mini-golf, a skate park and a water park. This is a great place to bring the family or a large group for a party or a relaxing afternoon spent poolside.
This expansive athletic complex, located off of Davidsonville Road, is where many of Crofton's youth sports teams practice. The complex features three baseball fields (two with lights), walking/jogging trails, four multi-purpose fields (two with lights), a relaxing picnic area, a pavillion that can be reserved, a playground, a concession stand that is open seasonally, and a dog park.
Cedar Lane Park is located just off of Cedar Lane. Covering 93 acres, Cedar Lane Park has playgrounds, picnic pavilions, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, tennis courts and more. Hunting, firearms and alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
With two entrances, Rockburn almost feels like two different parks. Entering from the east (5400 Landing Road) leads to a pavilion complete with concessions and two turf fields behind it. There are also four baseball diamonds, a playground and hiking paths.
Trails connect the east entrance to the west entrance (6105 Rockburn Branch Park Road), where more amenities await: a disc golf course, pavilion, four tennis courts, two baseball diamonds and more places to hike. The west area is also home to Pfeiffer's Corner Schoolhouse, a former one-room schoolhouse built circa 1883 that is now a designated historic site.
Green Park is for the dogs. A secluded patch of grass tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, Green Park features walking paths, an extensive playground and swings. There are wide-open fields, a dog exercise area, basketball and tennis courts, and benches for just relaxing.
Spanning more than 80 acres, Truxton Park is the city's main park, housing the new Roger W. Pip Moyer Recreation Center. In addition, it is home to the Penguin's Swim Team and a skate park. The park is equipped with benches, picnic tables, two playgrounds and nature trails. It also includes 12 tennis courts, three baseball fields, five basketball courts and a boat launch.
Twinbrook Community Recreation Center and Park has a gym, a fitness center, a recreation center and a kitchen facility. The park itself has two lighted basketball courts, two lighted tennis courts and two volleyball courts, along with a bike trail and a tetherball pole. It also has picnic tables and a playground.
