This church was originally established in neighboring Quincy in 1959. By 2004, population shifts and increased demand for service capacity led to the opening of the current church just off northern Washington Street in Braintree. The church, a beautiful red stone structure, contains a community center, administrative offices, classrooms and a very spacious parking lot. There are youth groups here, as well as a choir.

Located at the intersection of Pond and Washington Streets, South Congregational Church was founded nearly 200 years ago. The congregation is headed by Pastor Scott Killian and meets for worship every Sunday from 10:30am to 11:30am.
