This local branch of the worldwide Jehovah's Witnesses' organization holds a nontrinitarian Christian belief system. The Northbrook Kingdom Hall holds services in English and Korean on Sunday and Spanish on Monday. Service meetings take place in English on Tuesday, Spanish on Wednesday and Korean on Friday.
This outreach-oriented church supports nine missionary families and regularly invites missionaries to speak to the congregation. Northbrook Covenant Church also offers a variety of programs for children and families, including a Friday evening group where kindergarteners to fifth graders can learn about the Bible through games, crafts and theater.
Rev. Robert P. Heinz currently presides over St. Norbert parish, which includes more than 2,100 families. The church began in 1899 as a mission in Techny, then a rural outpost of Chicago, and was relocated to Northbrook fifty years later. St. Norbert offers masses on Sundays at 7:30am, 9:30am, 11:30am and 5:30pm, as well as daily.
After the 10:15am Sunday service, St. Giles Episcopal Church hosts a coffee hour where congregation members can talk while the kids play. The church hosts many events, including potluck dinner, ice cream socials and brunch for new members. Nursery care is available during services, and a variety of Bible study programs are offered for all ages ranging from three-year-olds to high school students and adults.
The Village Presbyterian Church has evolved over more than 100 years from the small group of worshipers who met in a railroad station in the late 1800s. Since 1949, the church has inhabited its current location at Shermer Road and Church Street downtown. Both contemporary and traditional services are offered, as well as outdoor services from June to September on the church's beautifully landscaped grounds.
Led by Rev. Melissa Early, Northbrook United Methodist Church offers services on Sundays at 10 a.m. (and earlier during the summer). Missionary activities include national and international youth mission trips as well as local efforts to help children and the homeless. The church site at Cherry Lane and Western Avenue has served as the staging area for countless Northbrook parades.
In addition to weekly bible study groups, prayer meetings and services, this tiny, active congregation hosts a Pathfinder Ministry, which is a Seventh-Day Adventist youth group similar to Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
