The Yard is a dance and performance arts center that specializes in choreography and the performing arts. It offers performances and dance theater to the public. Classes, workshops and residences are available to performance artists. Residency programs are four weeks long and include housing, stipends, work space, artistic mentoring and technical support. Programs and classes are available for kids, adults and families. Classes offered are yoga, dance, and movement and kids dance.
Tickets to performances can be purchased online and can be picked up at the will call window at the center. Season passes to shows are available. This center was founded by dancer Patricia Nanon as a means to create a space for dancers and choreographers to have a "playground without walls."
