Orange Grove Park and Mary Utsey Playground encompass nearly eight acres along Orange Grove Road near the Sandhurst and Ashley Hall Manor neighborhoods, The Palms Apartments and Orange Grove Elementary School. The park includes a baseball/softball field, two basketball half courts and a pair of tennis courts with lighting available until 10 p.m. The playground includes swings, slides and several play structures.
Hutchinson Square is a park in the center of Summerville. It is in an area shaded by oak trees and is near Town Hall. The square hosts art exhibits throughout the year.
Sesquicentennial State Park is a large community park and recreational area serving Columbia and the surrounding communities. The park has many areas and facilities, including camping sites, fishing, nature trails, a retreat center and a 6 mile long bike loop. Camping sites have individual water and 30 amp electrical hookups and there are 17 sites that can be used by RVs. There are also campfire rings and grills and tent pads. The park is great for special events, including family reunions and group gatherings. It also has a dog park area.
