Stone Zoo is a popular destination for viewing some of the most fascinating animals and programs from around the country. The zoo features monkeys, goats, black bears and river otters, to name a few of its guests. Some of the notable programs at the facility are "Masters of Flight: Birds of Prey," "A Wild Affair" and "Zoolights." Discounts are offered to select groups and the zoo is handicapped accessible.
Middlesex Fells Reservation is a 2,000 acre state park based in Stoneham. The location offers a range of areas and activities for residents and visitors, including a meadow, Bellevue Pond, Wright’s Tower, Virginia Wood, Lawrence Woods, Spot Pond, as well as numerous miles of trails. Some activities include mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking, rock climbing, cross country skiing, picnicking and more. It also offers guided walks and an off leash dog area.
