Hollydale Community Park is a public space located in central South Gate. At just over two acres, this is one of the area's smaller parks. This park features an outdoor basketball court, a community center and a playground.
The Hollydale Regional Park is operated by the City of South Gate Parks and Recreation Department. The park is one of the largest in Los Angeles County, and covers more than 56 acres of green lawn. The park is adjacent to the Los Angeles River, which also has a bike path for cyclists and non-motorized vehicles. It has a playground, tennis courts, baseball and soccer fields. It boasts a picnic area that allows groups of 50 people or more to gather, although a permit must be issued beforehand by the Parks Department. There is also an equestrian center located nearby that can also be reserved.
The Circle Park is operated by the City of South Gate Parks and Recreation Department. The 2.2 acre park is tucked in a residential area located north of the much larger Hollydale Regional Park. It features a playground, baseball/soccer fields, a grassy area that's perfect for a picnic and an on-off ramp for the city's bike path.
Stanford Park is a public green space. At just .19 acres, this is one of the smallest parks in South Gate. In addition to a children's playground, this park also features an open, grassy area.
South Gate Park is a public green space located in central South Gate. At nearly 100 acres, this is the largest park in the community. The main facilities here include a swimming pool, senior center and municipal auditorium. The park features open, grassy areas, benches and picnic tables, as well as a walking path. The park also features a children's play area with swings and a playground.
