The Avon Lake Boat Club is open to Avon Lake residents interested in boating, kayaking and small boat sailing. There are 120 racks for 14 foot class boats, 24 kayak racks, and three racks for small sail boats. Boats are launched via a unique trolley system. Annual Perch and Walleye derbies are held every summer. Boat size is limited to the 14 foot class with a beam not to exceed 72 inches. There is a waiting list for this club. Club meetings are held on the fourth Thursday each month, January through May, and during the month of October.
The Miller Road Park Boat Launch (also known as the Avon Lake Boat Launch) is open from April through November, weather permitting. There is a $5 fee for launching. The boat launch accessibility is strictly first-come, first-served. Only two boats may launch at the same time and all boats must have a current license, registration and Ohio numbers. Maximum size boat permitted here is 24 feet in length. There is a free parking lot for vehicles and trailers on site. Fish cleaning on this property is prohibited.
