Suncoast Vacuum opened its doors in 1977 as "Suncoast Vacuum & Appliance in Port Charlotte, Florida, by Charles "Chuck" & Susan "Sue" Drexler. Chuck hired high school student Paul Froeschle to help repair vacuums and appliances after school and on week-ends. In 1980, Chuck moved to a larger store at 3500A Tamiami Trail ( US 41 ) in Port Charlotte, Florida. He dropped appliances and decided to work strictly with vacuum cleaners shortly thereafter. Paul continued to work for him, and in 1988, married Sues sister Joy. Chuck moved to California in 1988, and Paul bought Suncoast from him at that time. Business continued to grow, and in 1996, Paul took over the entire building at 3500 Tamiami Trail. Paul has continued to foster customer relations ; his salespeople send personalized thank-you letters to new customers, and they are always there to answer their questions and service their vacuum cleaners. Suncoast has come full circle, as this year we will begin again to offer select appliances from Miele. Thinking they dont make them like they used to? They do -- you just cant buy them cheap at a department store. Did your parents own a cleaner that lasted for 30 years? Thats probably because, back when they bought it, the only kind of vacuum cleaners were quality cleaners. They didnt have cheap vacuums. Many times, people assume that, if they purchase an inexpensive vacuum at a super store, it should work the same and last as long as their parents vacuum from long ago, especially if its the same brand. Thats just not going to happen. The good news is, quality now comes cheaper than it did back then. In the 40s through the 60s, vacuum cleaner companies frequently advertised monthly payment plans along with their product. Most people could not afford to purchase a vacuum cleaner with one payment. Even todays quality vacuum cleaners are less expensive than that, and they are more featured. Although Suncoast sells all kinds of cleaners for all kinds of budgets, we urge you to explore what it would be like to own a quality cleaner. Your expensive carpets will last longer, you wont have the headache of repairing or replacing your cleaner all the time, and youll have the pleasure of using a cleaner which makes your vacuuming jobs easier and faster than ever before.
