Miami International Airport MIA is a main airport serving the Southern part of Florida.  MIA Airport is approximately 8 miles to the northwest of the Miami city center. Currently, it ranks as the busiest airport in Florida, the 12th busiest in the United States and the 25th-busiest in the world according to passenger traffic. Miami International Airport ranks first in the amount of international air traffic for airports in the United States of America.  Originally Miami International opened in 1928 as Pan American Field by Pan American Airways. In 1945 the name changed to 36th Street Airport when the city purchased the airport.

MIA Airport is located just north of Highway 836 and east of Highway 826 with ample parking that includes short-term, long-term, economy, hourly, garage and valet. These options include: Dolphin Parking, Flamingo Parking and South Parking.

Miami International Airport is comprised of three terminals (North, Central, South) and within those made up of six concourses (D, E, F, G, H, J) featuring 80 gates.  Over 50 airlines fly to and from Miami International Airport everyday to hundreds of domestic and international destinations.

At Miami Airport there are over 200 shops and restaurants to browse while en route to your next destination. Additionally, there are several services offered to passengers like Wi-Fi, ATMs, conference rooms, Chapel, Animal Relief Areas just to name a few. In terms of ground transportation it has never been easier to get to and from the airport, try the economical Metrorail or Metrobus. Also, there are taxis, limousines, courtesy shuttles and shuttles available.
