St. Luke Lutheran Church in Gales Ferry is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, which was formed in 1988 from three branches of the Lutheran Church. The church's pastor, the Rev. Stephen Schmidt, describes St. Luke's as "a vibrant, dynamic and growing congregation that seeks diligently to make fully committed followers of Jesus Christ."
