Josselyns Sawmill Inc Josselyn’s Sawmill began as a small shingle mill in the early 1970’s. After shoring up the old dairy barn, the first shingles were cut and put on the barn. Later the same building housed a portable Belsaw Sawmill, only to be replaced by a Lane #1 Mill sometime later. This was moved from the Alden Holmes property on the other side of Jefferson. The mill has produced up to sixty log home packages per year sawing about one million board feet annually. The building boom of the 80’s kept the mill hopping. Over the years the sawmill produced all logs and lumber needed for construction of the Vacation Rental Cabins called “Josselyn’s Getaway”. In late 2011, we made the business decision to stop producing log homes and focus on the Vacation Rentals, Maintenance and Furniture "divisions" of the business. The Sawmill was therefore disassembled in the spring of 2012. Strangers have traveled many a mile to enjoy their ‘Cabin in the Woods’ with babbling brook, situated in the middle of a maple grove, famed for once winning New Hampshire’s Carlisle Trophy for the best maple syrup in the state. A warehouse and shop used for storage of building supplies adjacent to the sawmill burned in 1994. This was replaced by a wood working shop where a new endeavor producing log furniture and accessories began. This continues to grow greatly. In June of 2017 Keith and Helene decided it was time to start cutting back, by eliminating the 24/7 responsibilities of the Vacation Rental portion of the business. The Vacation rental operation was sold including the showroom that we had added to display our furniture. We currently dont have plans to replace that showroom, but the furniture is still available for viewing at 243 Bailey Rd, Jefferson NH. Because the maintenance portion of the business requires the crew to be on the road, its best to call first (603-586-4579) to make sure we have what you need and assure that someone can meet you there.
