This branch serves as the headquarters of the Sequoyah Regional Library System. In addition to books, the R.T. Jones Memorial Library features genealogy and local history resources, a business and career center, a newspaper recycling center and a children's library outfitted with computers. A quiet room and private study rooms make this location the perfect refuge for bookworms in Cherokee, Gilmer and Pickens counties.
The main branch of the Lexington County Public Library is a 48,000-square-foot facility, which opened in 1998 and is overseen by librarian Mark T. Mancuso. The two-level building features a large variety of books and resources, including a children's area, videos, books-on-tape, periodicals, newspaper collections, two conference rooms, a virtual library containing 16 Internet access computers and a meeting room that can accommodate 100 people.
