The Temple Terrace Library provides print and online resources to Temple Terrace citizens. It also offers computer classes; meeting space for support groups and seminars; programs for children, teens and adults; and other events.

Founded in 1927 as one of seven city libraries, Seminole Heights Branch Library is located on the corner of Osborn and Central Avenues. It is frequented by neighborhood families and many students from Memorial Middle School and Hillsborough High School, which are across the street.

The current facility was dedicated in 1965. A new facility has been budgeted for $7.3 million and construction is expected to begin as early as 2011. The branch's Friends of the Library group holds regular book sales and works with the neighborhood associations as advocates for the library.

"The Jan Kaminis Platt Regional Library was dedicated and opened to the public on December 11, 2000. The facility is named in honor of Jan Kaminis Platt, who has served the community for over 20 years as a member of the Tampa City Council and as a Hillsborough County Commissioner. A fervent advocate for libraries, she was named to the American Library Association's "Freedom to Read Honor Roll" and received the "Best Friend of the Year" award from the Friends of the Library of Hillsborough County, Inc. in 1999."

"The 25,000 square foot regional library, the 22nd branch in the county's library system, serves the south Tampa community seven days a week with a full range of services and programs for customers of all ages."

"The facility includes two meeting rooms for public use and a drive-thru window for convenient check out and return of materials. It also features an opening day collection of nearly 90,000 books, magazines, CDs, videos, and DVDs, as well as computers to access a wide variety of electronic resources including the Internet and word processing software."

The North Tampa Branch Library is located across from Chamberlain High School. The original 3,500-square-foot building opened in 1964. The structure was expanded twice in 1967 and 1977.

In 2009, a 23,550-square-foot building opened to house a community room, computer lab, study room, children's room, teen room and other meeting rooms.

The Friends of the North Tampa Branch Library operate a book store in the lobby and accept donated materials.
