About Us The Acne Lab is a skin care clinic that focuses exclusively on providing acne treatment and skin repair located in Lafayette, Colorado 80026, in the Denver/Boulder area. From my senior year in high school through my early twenties, I struggled for years to clear my skin of persistent and significant acne. My few dermatologists would prescribe topical and oral antibiotics and would "modify" my skin care regimen by increasing the dosage of both. When those attempts failed, my desperation skyrocketed and I willingly agreed to take an extremely toxic isotretinoin... I was desperate for a solution and there were very few options presented to me. Millions of teenagers and adults struggle to control and eliminate persistent acne, yet, only 10 percent of all acne sufferers ever seek medical help. Some of the reasons for not seeking treatment is the perception that acne is embarrassing, its not taken seriously as a condition that requires professional treatment, and because previous attempts of treating acne may have failed. Acne Is Treatable! Acne is a defect in the structure and working of your skin that doesn’t allow the “normal” and natural exfoliation of the skin. Skin cells collect in the pores and create blackheads, pustules, cysts (aka acne). Acne is genetically linked and so is handed down through the generations. Now that I have three boys, the likelihood they will struggle with acne is significant enough to remind me of what I went through. My passion became creating a business that not only effectively treats acne but also breaks the perceived barriers that would otherwise prevent someone from seeking help. Though there is no cure, acne is treatable. The Acne Lab is designed to help guide clients through active acne to clear skin without the use of antibiotics or isotretinoins .
