Established in 1953, Sunset Elementary School has an enrollment of more than 250 students in kindergarten through grade five. The school provides education in English, math, science, social studies and language arts. Its curriculum additionally includes music and physical education. Sunset Elementary School offers special education programs for students with developmental disabilities. The school operates The Learning Academy, which helps to augment, scaffold, improve and enhance the learning of students on a systematic basis. The academy s members include classroom teachers and Title I and special education staff. Sunset Elementary School is governed by Park County School District 6, which also maintains Cody High School, Cody Middle School and Eastside Elementary School. The school district also includes Livingston Elementary School, Valley Elementary School and Wapiti Elementary School. Its schools provide various sports activities, such as cross-country, skiing, and track and field.
