Established in 1812, Houlka Elementary School offers educational opportunities to students in preschool through grade six. It administers various programs for gifted students, as well as operates a library. The school also provides guidance counseling and support and speech therapy programs. Houlka Elementary School conducts instructive sessions in the areas of music and physical education. It is a part of the Chickasaw County School District, which serves more than 530 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Houlka Elementary School offers opportunities for the intellectual stimulation, self-realization, and physical and emotional growth of children. Its schools maintain parent-teacher organizations that provide finances and volunteers to the school.
