Freedom Elementary School is one of twenty-three elementary schools in the Carroll County Public School System. The mission of Freedom Elementary School is "to provide an environment where all students become lifelong learners and productive citizens." The school has an extensive media center with more than 14,500 books, and encourages students to become lifelong readers and effective users of information and technology. In addition, the school offers several sports and recreational activities.
Eldersburg Elementary School, founded in 1969, is one of 23 elementary schools in the Carroll County Public School System. This school implements Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), a "proactive systems approach for creating and maintaining safe and effective learning environments in school and ensuring that all students have the social/emotional skills needed to ensure success in school and beyond."
Eldersburg Elementary encourages students to become involved in fundraisers and charity events offering opportunities to give back including Dance-A-Thons, clothing drives and fun runs.
Piney Ridge Elementary School is one of 23 elementary schools under the Carroll County Public School System. Piney Ridge was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2008. The elementary school was also certified in 2009 as a "Green School" by the Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education (MAEOE) for its work to reduce pollutants and lower greenhouse emissions.
Activities and clubs offered at the school include the chess club, family fitness night, father daughter dance, math committee and newspaper club.
