Clay City Elementary School, operated by the Powell County School District, offers classes from grades kindergarten through five. Its curriculum includes accelerated reading program, English, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, and performing and visual arts. It also provides choir programs, group activities, field trips and choir programs, and various sport activities, including volleyball, basketball, football and softball. The elementary school has a fully equipped library and computer laboratory, and also provides various after school programs. It enrolls more than 500 students, and is located in Clay City, Ky. The school has a parent-teacher organization, and special educational programs for talented and gifted children.
