Braeside School is one of the prettier schools in Highland Park. Located in a leafy, southern part of the community, the school looks more like a Frank Lloyd Wright home than a grade school. Students here are expected to adhere to high standards of academic excellence and leadership.
Ravinia School is located in south central Highland Park. Built in the early 20th century, the school was originally a one-room school house with 25 students. Since then, it's expanded and now educates more than 300 students annually.
Montessori Connection East is operated out of a church. Open since 1996, this certified school is one of several in a network of Montessori schools throughout the community.
Indian Trail School is located just north of downtown Highland Park. This grade school has a focus on the arts in education, featuring several galleries of student-made work on its campus. Since 1956, this small school has been effectively combining art and academics.
