Founded in 1993, Hancock Creek Elementary School offers classes from grades kindergarten through five and has an enrollment of more than 1,000 students. Its curriculum offers subjects, including reading, writing and mathematics. It also offers research projects and extended study in other academic areas. Additionally, the school offers activities, such as art, music, physical education programs, daily television news and an annual academic fair. The school has a media center that consists of more than 17,000 books, audiovisual materials, periodicals, newspapers, bi-lingual materials, reference books and research tools. The school also has a store that provides pencils, crayons, glue sticks, papers, binders, markers, rulers, erasers and notebooks. The school s advisor council assists in preparation and evaluation of the school improvement plan. The Hancock Creek Elementary School is a part of The School District of Lee County that educates more than 75,000 students in over 100 schools.
