Dawnwood Middle School offers a wide range of community outreach projects that include annual holiday food drive and Thanksgiving baskets for local families. The public school is based in Centereach, N.Y., and has an enrollment of more than 1,200 students in grades six through eight. Its academic curriculum includes English, social studies, science, mathematics and arts. In addition, it offers courses in foreign languages, such as French, Latin and Spanish. The school has a range of extracurricular services and programs that include the National Junior Honor Society and peer leadership programs.
