Gaylord Intermediate School provides a range of academic and enrichment activities for more than 700 students in grades four through six. The school offers classes in English, math, science and social studies. Its library media center maintains a selection of books and reading and reference materials. In addition, Gaylord Intermediate School operates a parent-teacher organization that supports students in various activities and has partnerships with local businesses and families. It operates a violin club, as well as offers opportunities to participate in sports activities, such as basketball and volleyball. The school features a cafeteria, gymnasium and several classrooms. It supports the Adopt-A-Class program. Gaylord Intermediate School also provides a range of before- and after-school programs. The school is governed by Gaylord Community Schools, which additionally manages elementary and high schools.
