Gruening Middle School is an educational institution that offers a variety of extracurricular and academic programs for more than 600 students. It enrolls students in grades seven and eight, as well as provides gifted and remedial instruction programs. The school s core curriculum includes various subjects, such as language arts, science, reading, mathematics, physical education and social studies. It also offers instruction in several elective subjects, including applied technology, art, band, orchestra, choir, drama, business education and foreign languages. Gruening Middle School additionally participates in aggressors, victims, prevention and bystanders programs that promote positive student behavior through community-building activities. Located in Eagle River, Ark., the school is a part of the Anchorage School District, which governs elementary, middle and high schools.
