MacDonalds Ranch offers activities for individuals, small parties, large conventions or corporate gatherings. Choose from Guided Horseback rides, Hayrides & Cowboy Cookouts, and also available are many varieties of Entertainment. Our location is close to all modern conveniences, minutes from most Valley resorts, hotels, airports and easily accessible. We are open all year long. Due to the seasonal weather please contact us for hours of operation. Everybody! From a single rider, small parties, medium sized parties, or large groups we also have the facilities to accommodate Parties up to 1, 000 individuals. We enjoy having Churches, Schools, Youth Groups, Corporate Events, Weddings and Bar Mitzvahs, also Adventure Groups, Photographers, and "Wild West" seeking tourists. Our professional staff will customize services and amenities to fit most any situation. History of MacDonalds Ranch From the beginning of a horse and cattle ranch in the late 1950s, the Richardson Family is still working the land. Initially the spread consisted of 36, 000 acres in the desert that is now North Scottsdale. In the spring of 1970 on Easter Sunday Old Mac Donalds Farm opened to the public. The Richardson Family realized a dream of an operation that allows the public the hands on approach to the ranch experience. A place where kids from the city could watch a cow being milked, see live ranch animals and be in a natural surrounding as you ride in the sonoran desert. This became Mac Donalds Ranch and is in operation today. Years passed, the Valley grew and with the exception of MacDonalds Ranchs 1300 acres, the land surrounding became a few shopping centers and housing development. In 1994 Old MacDonalds Farm was updated to MacDonalds Ranch and our services changed to offer an atmosphere where you can relax and take a step back in time to an overview in ranch live. In our third decade of operation MacDonalds Ranch is one of Scottsdales oldest and experienced horseback riding stables making it the premier Western adventure in the Valley of the sun.
