Clay Contracting was founded in 2001 by Chris Clay in Lakemont, Georgia. Chris is a 1995 graduate of Rabun County High School and a 1999 graduate of Auburn University. He spent two years after school building for himself and family on Lake Rabun before realizing what great passion he had for home building. In 2001 Chris opened Clay Contracting, a company which has experienced steady growth since its outset. Chris limits the number of simultaneous projects to ensure that each client receives a great deal of personal attention from him and his team. Clay Contracting has now established itself as one of the premier builders in Rabun County, primarily on Lake Rabun and Lake Burton. Because of the exceptional quality of the homes he has built and his reputation for honesty and integrity, Chris Clay has earned the respect of his peers in the building industry around the community. Chris is active in the Home Builders Association at the local and state level. He served as President of the Home Builders Association of Rabun County in 2005 and 2006 and was named the "2007 Builder of the Year" by the Home Builders Association of Rabun County for his "leadership and dedication to the building industry".
