Tucked into an idyllic suburban neighborhood setting, the Lumina Studio Theatre offers local actors of all ages the opportunity to study and practice classical theater in a professional setting.
Plays are ultimately performed at the Round House Theatre in downtown Silver Spring.
Lumina's programs (which include character and vocal coaching, choreography, live music and detailed costuming) are based on Rudolf Steiner's creative speech and drama techniques and also incorporate Stella Adler and Michael Chekhov elements.

Maryland Youth Ballet is a non-profit organization that was started in a Kensington basement in the 1960s. It is nationally known as one of the premier classical ballet training institutions. It relocated to its current space in 2007. The new space is equipped with five spacious studios equipped with custom-installed dance floors, 16 inch ceilings, immense windows, dressing rooms, bathrooms, a comfortable lobby and offices.
Music Together Montgomery offers music and movement classes for parents and children from birth through age five. Classes are offered all over Montgomery County. No prior musical experience is necessary; the only requirement is enthusiasm and excitement about music for education.
Veterans Plaza is a large public open space that is used for local community festivals and concerts. The space features a pavilion, where the Silver Spring Swings summer concert series is held annually. The plaza is also the location of the Silver Spring Civic Building, which opened in 2010. The building is the center of community activities in the city, and is available for banquets, presentations, meetings and other events.
