Sprouts Farmers Market is a cross between Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, only bigger. The produce and meat always seem to be fresh, and the prices for the organic items are reasonable. It is a clean and friendly grocery store.
Ruby's Diner is located at the end of the Seal Beach Pier -- a nice 10-minute walk. It has the basic decor of bright red vinyl booths with white Formica tables and soda fountains of the 1950s. The menu is just as nostalgic with burgers, hot dogs, fries and drinks on offer. Over the years creative touches were added to many of the Ruby's Diners by developing modified themes to fit the local area. All the waitstaff and managers are dressed in 1950s uniforms. Everyone has smiles and the service is great.
This liquor/museum has been around since the early 1940's. The inside of it is like a cool time capsule. It sells liquor, soda and other beverages. It rents boogie boards. You can find beach accessories for sale, along with T-shirts. There is an ATM and you can buy lotto tickets. It only takes cash. No parking lot, but free street marketing. Ken, who has worked here for 40 years will tell you stories, if you have a few minutes.
